About Devika
I am a first-year medical student at the University of St Andrews and I am very passionate about science and maths. Having very recently finished secondary school, I have very up to date resources that I would love to share with my students to help them achieve the grades that can help them get to where they want to go! My teaching method is very student-centred and I hope to create a safe environment for my students that will allow them to comfortably ask questions and raise concerns which I can address.

I can teach GCSE Chemistry (AQA) and Maths (Edexcel). My main focus is on honing exam technique but also I try to inspire a genuine interest in the subject itself so that the lessons can be enjoyable and informative. The lessons will be also mainly focused on the student's concerns in a topic. I believe in the scientifically proven method of active recall and spaced repetition to help my students retain and understand information. I make sure to review important concepts at regular intervals with my students so that the information is more likely to stick and I go through exam-styled questions so that students are prepared for what they will face in an actual exam. I also will provide my own resources that I made myself to get the top grades in my own exams!
The typical lesson will be around an hour long, but that can change depending on the student/parent preference.
