About Lydia
Picking up my first guitar in my living room was mostly about mimicking radio songs. It was just me and a dusty instrument for hours on end. I eventually earned a formal music degree to legitimize those late nights. Teaching has been my main focus for 19 years now. Most of my students are curious people looking for a genuine connection to music. I share the culture of Latin guitar alongside technical skills. I treat the instrument with respect but keep things light. It is just strings and wood at the end of the day. Maybe we can find a rhythm that feels right for you.

Usually we start by checking your finger placement before hitting a chord. It feels like we are just chatting through the mechanics of a song. I demonstrate a strumming pattern then you give it a go. We spend time on fingerpicking or power chords depending on your goals. I have a free trial session to assess your starting level first. This helps us ensure we do not waste time on things you already know. Performance is the end goal for many students I see. We will take it one fret at a time.
