About Paula

I take pride in being both a nursing educator and a lifelong learner. With a doctorate in education and a strong background in statistics, I bring more than just content knowledge—I bring an understanding of how people learn, especially in the fast-paced, emotionally complex world of nursing. My focus is always on making material clear, relevant, and applicable to real-world practice. I care deeply about helping students not just pass their courses, but truly understand the “why” behind what we do as nurses. I stay current in research on nursing education and use that to guide how I teach and support students. I approach every student with respect and professionalism, and I create a space where they feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically, and building confidence in their skills.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around flexibility, clarity, and responsiveness. I understand that nursing students are juggling a lot—tight deadlines, complex material, and real-life responsibilities. That’s why I offer a highly flexible schedule and make myself available for quick follow-ups, last-minute help, and ongoing support when it matters most. I’ve taught in nearly every format—from large classrooms to one-on-one tutoring—and I know that no two students learn the same way. I'm comfortable explaining the same concept in four different ways until it clicks, whether that’s breaking it down visually, walking through it with examples, connecting it to clinical practice, or framing it statistically.
With formal doctorates in both education and nursing, and as a published researcher and NCLEX item writer, I bring a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed academically and professionally. I also work as a nursing career coach, so I keep the bigger picture in mind. My goal is not just to help students pass—I’m here to help them thrive and grow into confident, capable nurses.
