About Jessica

Choosing to study singing with me means choosing a tailored approach that honors your voice, your pace, and your goals. Whether you’re beginning to explore singing or are looking to polish advanced skills, I design lessons around your unique needs and musical tastes. Bringing your favorite songs to lessons is encouraged, making the process fun and personally meaningful. We work on breath support, pitch accuracy, tone development, and dynamic control through technical exercises combined with creative practices like vocal imagery, lyric analysis, and improvisation. I pay close attention to your mood and energy during each session, adjusting exercises to provide grounding or energizing vocal workouts as appropriate. My goal is to create a warm, judgment-free space where you feel safe to experiment, take risks, and grow your confidence. We’ll develop a practice plan that fits your schedule and lifestyle, with achievable goals that keep your progress steady and stress-free. Beyond solo singing, I offer coaching in harmony singing, songwriting, and stage presence to support your overall artistic development. Whether you sing for joy, emotional release, or career growth, I’m here to help you cultivate a strong, expressive, and authentic voice.

About the lesson

My vocal pedagogy is grounded in the belief that technique should serve expression, not silence it. I help students build voices that are not only strong and flexible but also personally meaningful through a process guided by Communication, Creativity, Cultural Sensitivity, and Accountability.

Communication allows us to co-create your learning journey. From the beginning, I listen deeply—to your goals, your questions, your frustrations, and your dreams. I explain techniques clearly and adapt my approach based on how you learn best. You’ll always know what we’re doing and why it matters to your development. Creativity infuses our sessions with depth and variety. I guide you through imaginative, emotionally charged exercises that draw from theatre, poetry, and movement. We create stories with your sound, rather than just aim for technical accuracy. This keeps your learning joyful, expressive, and relevant. Cultural sensitivity adds dimension to your work.

When we study music from different traditions, we dive into the history, language, and culture behind it—not to imitate, but to appreciate and perform with awareness. I also help you find and shape repertoire that speaks to your personal identity, ensuring your voice is not just heard, but understood. Accountability is the engine that drives consistent growth. I offer personalized practice tools, reflection prompts, and targeted feedback to help you stay focused and inspired.
