I don't believe in hard work. It's a false heuristic that bears no relationship to empirical research.
I take the approach of incentivising students to have intrinsic motivation and fall in love with learning.
One way I do that is by presenting to them the reward for what they do.
It's unrealistic to expect students to master a subject over night.
but with consistent and calculated and educated choices, they can reach goals they couldn't imagine in the first place.
