Objective of the lesson: We will talk about food itself, the nutrients derived from each food group, and the chemistry behind food preservation and food spoilage. We will talk about how to obtain some nutrients in food (flour, for instance). We will know how to determine gluten content, ash content/crude fiber, carbohydrates, protein, moisture content, and others. Basically, we will talk about food science and technology.
