  • At what age did you start practicing this sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I was fortunate to have a tennis club at the end of my road, and that’s where it all started. I probably picked up a racquet seriously around the age of nine, and very quickly became obsessed with the game. I’d hit against a brick wall almost every day after school, and soon began group lessons and social tennis. From there, my love for the game grew into weekend competition, then junior tournaments. Eventually, I was taking tennis very seriously. I represented Victoria, making the state team at age 16, which was a huge milestone and springboard for my tennis journey.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

Tennis is a lifelong craft, much like martial arts. It requires muscle memory, ingrained reactions, and a mindset of constant incremental improvement. You wake up every day respecting the grind and chasing better. While I don’t actively practice martial arts, I deeply admire the discipline and mentality it demands. Outside of tennis, I enjoy AFL recreationally, however tennis has always been my main sport and passion.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue this craft?

It's that internal drive to be a little bit better than I was yesterday. I’ve always been competitive, especially with friends I grew up training and competing with. I love winning, and I hate losing. I also respect the process. Losing teaches you a lot. It shows you where the holes are in your game, and gives you direction. That hunger to improve, to learn from every experience, and to help others do the same is what fuels me.
  • Do you have an achievement that you're particularly proud of?

Playing four years of semi-professional college tennis was a huge highlight of my career. I met incredible people from around the world and grew exponentially on and off the court. Another major proud achievement I hold is running my own tennis club; Gracedale Park Tennis Club, where I get to work with athletes of all ages, levels and abilities. Some of my most rewarding moments come from working with beginners who surprise themselves with how quickly they improve. Seeing someone go from doubting themselves to confidently rallying or winning points is incredibly fulfilling. It's that upward spiral of belief and progress that makes the journey special for everyone.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better athlete?

Competing at state level as a junior and being ranked in the top 10 in the USA during my college years gave me a strong foundation in discipline and sportsmanship. At the same time, injuries have taught me humility and resilience. Being sidelined for months isn't just physically tough, it's mentally challenging. Rebuilding your confidence and pushing through fear of re-injury is a journey in itself. This experience has taught me to listen to my body, and to pass this knowledge on to students, to avoid burnout, respect recovery, and always prioritise health.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

Roger Federer, unquestionably. I’d love to ask how he stayed grounded amidst global fame, how he maintained composure in the biggest moments, and what routines or rituals kept him mentally sharp. He’s the complete athlete and person; graceful, intelligent, and resilient, and there’s so much to learn from his journey.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I keep things fresh with variety, personalise every session, and build strong connections with my students. I constantly highlight their progress, whether it’s hitting one more forehand in a rally or beating an opponent they never thought they could. Motivation comes from feeling seen, valued, and supported, and I make sure every player feels that within each session.
  • What makes you a Superprof?

I combine high-level playing experience, years of coaching experience, and a true love for teaching. My coaching is built on adaptability, empathy, and long-term growth, for both the athlete and the person. Whether you're starting at the young age of three or trying tennis for the first time as an adult, I give you the tools to succeed. Because for me, it's not just about improving your game, it's about making tennis a lasting, enjoyable part of your life.
