About Giovana
I studied at Graduada, an American school in São Paulo, and there I taught math. My teaching style is interactive, using videos, images and other resources that will give the student a native understanding of the language. In my classes, I highly value the ability to understand writing and spoken language, so I like to include activities where the student can practice in a realistic setting, such as asking for something in a restaurant, introducing himself/herself, asking for help, and making small talk about the day to day life. In addition, I value teaching native expressions, which is not common in most English classes in Brazil, and other colloquial mannerisms. In the end, I want my student to be able to talk to natives and understand texts, written or spoken.

My methodology is holistic, including videos, many visual aids, interactive games, skits, among others. Regardless of age, learning is more effective when the student is not tired, and arrives in class willing to learn. I divide my classes into three phases: teaching the basics of speach construction, next I encourage the use of English in the class and I include many games and practical skits, and third, when the student has a solid understanding, I approach advanced topics and I encourage a lot of reading.
