About Camila
I built a career as a telenovela actor and singer for years before shifting into full-time teaching, and that performance background shapes almost everything about how I teach singing today. Eleven years into teaching now, I've worked with about two hundred thirty students, many of them drawn specifically to genuine performance skill alongside pure technical vocal development. My acting background gives me unusually direct insight into genuine stage presence and emotional performance, insight that purely technically focused voice teachers simply cannot offer their students. I work particularly well with students who want to genuinely perform, not just sing technically correct notes in private without an audience ever in mind. My teaching style is expressive and performance-focused, reflecting real professional acting and musical experience, though I remain patient with students building foundational technique first. I have guided numerous students toward genuine, confident stage performance, drawing on real professional experience rather than purely academic assumptions about performance readiness. Students consistently tell me they feel genuinely prepared to perform, not just technically capable, after working with me over real time. I take genuine pride in helping students discover authentic stage presence alongside real vocal skill. After eleven years, I remain genuinely passionate about this teaching approach.

My years working as a telenovela actor taught me that genuine presence and emotional commitment matter enormously in any performance, and that principle shapes how I teach singing today. Vocal fundamentals get thorough attention, but I constantly connect technique back to genuine emotional expression, since technically correct but emotionally flat singing rarely moves an actual audience. I teach performance presence alongside pure vocal technique, posture, confidence, genuine connection with an audience, skills my acting background specifically trained me to develop and now teach directly. Repertoire selection often includes emotionally rich, dramatic pieces, since I believe students learn technique fastest when genuinely emotionally invested in what they're singing. I run mock performance sessions regularly, simulating real audience pressure, drawing directly on years of professional performance experience under genuine, real scrutiny. Students learn to manage performance nerves through techniques borrowed directly from acting training, breath work, grounding, genuine focus, rather than simply hoping nerves disappear naturally over time. I encourage genuine emotional storytelling through song, treating each piece as a story to be told convincingly, not just notes to be sung correctly. Feedback addresses both technical accuracy and genuine emotional delivery, since I believe both matter equally in creating truly memorable, moving performances. Every lesson builds toward genuine stage presence.
