About Riley

I have been playing the guitar for 15+ years now. I grew up in the Bay Area training with James Robinson (featured on Steve VAi’s record label). I’ve studied blues, rock, jazz, Latin, fusion, country, and classical. I’ve jammed in the James Robinson band at different venues in the Bay Area. I studied at the Steve Vai Academy working with Steve Vai and his band along with Guthrie Govan, Larry Mitchell, Yvette Young, Joe Robinson and Nuno Bettencourt. I’ve also studied under Dante Frisiello, Steve Vai’s rhythm guitarist. I began teaching privately in person and online over three years ago. I have worked with various age ranges from six years old all the way to 60+ years old. The students I have worked with, depending on what their interest is, I teach them proper guitar playing technique, different songs that are beneficial or of interest, how to improvise and jam, along with music theory.
I also write and compose my own music. Playing piano has helped in that field as well. I have been playing the piano for three years now studying with Daniel Gotz. I also sometimes use the piano with students learning the guitar when I am explaining music theory, since the piano offers a clearer, more straightforward vision of certain music theory aspects. I have two instrumental guitar songs, a jazz tune, and a Disney/Broadway Duet released so far. Attached here is my Spotify music: (concealed information)

About the lesson

Whether it's wanting to improve your guitar technique, learn songs to play for fun, or learn how to jam with a group of people and play on stage, or even compose songs of your own, I will teach you in a way where you will be able to have the option for all. My method uses a universal technique, meaning you will be able to play in many different scenarios because of the musical variety I will share with you. To leave you with this note, when I started learning guitar I got to a point where I felt stuck with my progression and I wasn't so interested in playing, until I found the right teacher who showed me the infinite possibilities with music and the guitar. This is something I want to pass forward on to you!

I 1st met Riley when he was jamming with James Robinson, a band I had followed for several years. I thought that he was a fantastic guitarist, especially being so young.
I had wanted to take guitar lessons for years but had never gotten the chance to do so. When I find out that Riley gave lessons and was willing to work with very inexperienced students I finally got the nerve to start taking lessons. That was the best decision I have ever made.
