About Roshan
Most recently I was teaching English to disadvantaged children in Hong Kong (for which I had a DBS check). For the first part of this programme I was paired with two university students from Hong Kong and we had to create a detailed teaching plan for the students aged 9 - 12 which included science workshops, sports in addition to general learning. This programme also included two outing days, one to a country club and the other being to an indoor family entertainment centre during which I had to be extremely vigilant of the children who were under my care as I had to ensure not only their safety but also the members of the public. For the second half of this programme, I was the main class teacher with an assistant for children aged 12 and above.
From the age of 8 until now, I've always been around children as I am an aunty to 4 nieces and 2 nephews. Due to being around children from such a young age, I am able to get along well with children and form a good relationship. Beyond my personal life, I have had experience working with children first starting in 2013 doing work experience in a primary school. Through this placement I was able to improve my organisational skills through creating and managing classes as well as having to adapt to various situations which occurred in the class such as having to tailor teaching methods to reach through to different children.

In order to best tutor, I think it best to first ask the student the areas in the subject which they would like to improve. After deciding on this, I would ask the student how they learn best and then tailor any lessons towards these requirements so that it will be able to benefit them best.
