Retiring from federal language training left me with a clear perspective on how adults effectively acquire new skills. These 9 years of teaching have been defined by helping French immersion graduates polish their abilities and assisting newcomer families as they build essential English fluency for their Canadian lives.
I often think about the specific hurdles my students face when transitioning into new professional environments. My teaching style remains structured while staying culturally aware of the nuances that define successful communication in Canada. Many of my students are working professionals or hobbyists who seek a more nuanced understanding of the language.
