About Josephine

I am a journalist fluent in French and English, and have been eager to learn a bunch of languages since school: Spanish, Arabic, Italian, ZisiZulu... It has allowed me to understand what a personal teacher can help with, beyond normal lessons and (great) apps like Duolingo. Learning some of those languages in a classic way has sometimes been frustrating, especially isiZulu and Arabic, as the "normal" way of speaking those languages is so far away from what you learn. Nothing can replace chatting to actual speakers. I love to teach French to my friends, back in France I gave French lessons to foreign speakers through an NGO.

About the lesson

Not everyone wants the same thing from language lessons: whether it's learning the basics, improving your pronunciation, understanding some confusing grammar rules, preparing for an exam such as DELF, practicing your chatting skills, or simply just being able to communicate with French-speaking friends, I'll adapt to your needs. A typical lesson with me would start by teaching some basics, greetings etc (the first things that would come up in a conversation), in the actual way a French person would speak, and then, moving along, introducing vocabulary (maybe 10 words per lesson), and the grammar rules as it goes.
