About Marianne

I have been teaching for 10 years.
I have taught individual lessons as well as up to 20 students classes.
My students have been able to go from complete beginner to carrying a short conversation in 3 months ( but it takes hard work from both the student and the teacher).

About the lesson

I am French American , born and raised in France. I hold two Masters Degrees : In International Relations from the Universite Jean Moulin, Lyon France, and Urban Planning in Developing Countries from Sciences Po Rennes, France.
I have worked at Berlitz as a French instructor for professionals and college students in Paris , France and Istanbul, Turkey. I have also taught French to USAID and US state Department Foreign Service Officers.
I have also taught US Community College online summer courses.
I usually tailor lessons and curriculum to student needs. I focus on basic grammar in order to be able to make audible sentences and begin speaking/ reading quickly. I like to use all media: audio (radio, music,...), video, reading (news articles, cartoons, short essays,...)...
