I have been meeting Sophie more or less weekly for about 6 years. I wanted to improve my French as I have a house in France. We only speak French which was quite a shock at first. But the improvement has been fantastic. I can hold conversations with my neighbors and even complain to EDF by phone when they overcharged us 4,000 euros! I sorted it - the whole thing in French over about 4 long calls. I ask her for feedback and she is totally honest. She also seems to be able to converse on any topic - from philosophy to football. And she is just very competent and very nice. She is very rational which I did not expect from a French person (stereotypes!) which leads to some debates as I am not. But I never thought I would be able to have such debates in French in the first place. I have to improve in tenses other than the present!

Sophie has successfully tutored me for several years and the results are evident by the feedback I have received from others. She is supportive, encouraging, rigorous and has a nice sense of humour. I particularly like that her lessons are tailored to the student’s needs and that she is full of ideas on how to supplement learning in a practical, helpful and interesting way.
