About Mark

Hi! I've been teaching at tertiary level for over 10 years. My PhD is in sociology but I also have qualifications in business and humanities. At the moment, I am working on writing my second book and starting a consultancy so I'm available to teach one on one! I already do that successfully with international Masters students doing dissertations, and with international students seeking to improve their English language skills and I love this work so much I'm completing my qualifications in Applied Linguistics. I've already completed Teaching English Online qualifications. I've worked closely with students from Vietnam, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Nepal, India and many more countries! And I've always got top marks myself for attention to each student's needs.

About the lesson

My strong opinion is that learning is a shared journey and I will learn as much from you as I teach.

So my first step is always to understand you, your background, where you are coming from and to conduct a shared needs analysis. For instance, you may wish to improve spoken English for business purposes. Or perhaps you need to raise your IELTS score in one domain. Or maybe you would like to read and understand academic or technical articles better.

I use a variety of highly interactive methods, all tailored to you. And I am very supportive and interested in you and your progress, because that's what brings me joy! Obviously, I also think we'll have fun.

During my Master course, I got the chance to study “Service Operations Management” taught by Professor Mark.
It was one of my favourite subjects and Mark is my favourite lecturer.
