About Sophie

Nice to meet you! I am a patient, kind and experienced teacher.

I am a fully qualified Secondary teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Education, a first class degree in Psychology, an A in A Level Psychology and an A* in GCSE Psychology.

You can be confident not only in my Psychological knowledge and skills, but also in my ability to teach. I use evidence-based and outcome-focused strategies to build students knowledge, skills and confidence.

About the lesson

I take a individualised and responsive approach to tutoring. I have successfully worked with young people who have had prolonged absences from education, for whom English is a second language and who have additional learning needs.

Learning happens through building trust and confidence. I teach through first identifying gaps in knowledge and skills, and then breaking this down into attainable steps.

I teach through modelling skills (showing you how it's done), independent practice and live feedback, enabling young people to transition from dependent to independent learners.

Lessons typically take 30-60 mins. I am happy to teach all ages, but am experienced in teaching KS4 and KS5 Psychology.
