About BETHany

Hi! I'm Bethany, and I’m passionate about helping people succeed in maths. With a background as a Brand Marketing Manager at adidas, Callaway and Samsung, I’ve gained a wealth of experience in problem-solving and innovation. I also hold a degree in Product Design, where I developed a strong foundation in maths, which I absolutely love.

Teaching has always been something I’m passionate about, and I find great fulfillment in helping others learn and grow. I want to help you build your confidence in maths, whether you're preparing for exams or just looking to improve your skills.

About the lesson

I believe in creating a warm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas. My tutoring approach is centred around making maths engaging, accessible, and relevant to each student’s needs. Here’s how I teach:

Techniques & Methodology: I focus on building a strong foundation by first addressing any gaps in understanding, then gradually increasing the complexity of the material. I use a variety of teaching methods, including visual aids, real-world examples, and interactive problem-solving to ensure that each student grasps the concepts in a way that makes sense to them. I also place a strong emphasis on active learning, encouraging students to work through problems themselves with guidance when needed, so they gain confidence in their abilities.

Typical Length of a Lesson: Most lessons are 1 hour long, but I can adapt the length depending on the student’s preference or specific needs. Some students may benefit from shorter, more frequent sessions, while others may prefer longer sessions for more in-depth work.

Qualifications: I am a First Class university graduate with a strong background in mathematics, having achieved an A-Level in Maths (in addition to Physics, Product Design and Psychology), and A* in Maths GCSE.

Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons are designed for students up to KS4 (ages up to 16), whether you’re looking to improve your general understanding of maths, prepare for exams, or need extra support in specific topics. I work with students of all abilities, tailoring each session to meet individual learning styles and goals.

I strive to make maths not only more understandable but also enjoyable, empowering students to approach challenges with confidence and curiosity!
