About Sienna

Hello! My name is Sienna Resinger. I’m a first-generation college student and Native American, and everything I do is rooted in wanting to create a future not just for myself, but for my family and community too. I was the valedictorian of my high school and a proud Utah Sterling Scholar winner, and I’m currently studying business law with the goal of becoming an international business lawyer one day. When you work with me, you’re not just learning English — you’re learning with someone who truly understands what it means to work hard for your dreams. Education has changed my life, and tutoring is one of the ways I get to help change someone else’s too. This coming spring semester, I’ll be studying abroad in South Korea, which means I’ll be right there with you, learning a new language, stepping into a new culture, and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. I know exactly how scary and exciting that feels, and I bring that empathy into every lesson. Outside of school, I’m an entrepreneur at heart. I currently own two of my own businesses, and I love teaching students how confidence and communication can open doors in every part of life. I’m also deeply involved in giving back, I’ve volunteered for years, won my local pageant, and even started my own nonprofit in high school to help animals, because helping others has always been part of who I am. I love working with animals, but even more, I love working with people, supporting them, encouraging them, and watching them grow into their confidence.

About the lesson

Hi! If you’re thinking about learning English with me, here’s exactly what our first lesson will feel like. My goal isn’t just to teach you English — it’s to help you feel comfortable, confident, and proud every time you speak. ⸻ By the end of our lesson, you’ll… • Feel more relaxed speaking English • Learn new words you can actually use in real life • Make full sentences about yourself • Improve your pronunciation little by little • Leave feeling: “I really spoke English today.” ⸻ How our lesson will go 1. Getting comfortable (about 5 minutes) We’ll start easy. No pressure at all. I’ll introduce myself and we’ll do simple conversation like: • “What’s your name?” • “Where are you from?” • “What do you like to do?” You never have to be perfect — mistakes are welcome here. ⸻ 2. Learning useful words (about 10 minutes) We’ll go over everyday words you’ll actually use, like: • Family • Friends • School or work • Hobbies • Favorite things You’ll hear the word, say it, and then use it in your own sentence — so it sticks. ⸻ 3. Making real sentences (about 10 minutes) I’ll help you turn words into sentences like: • “I like ___.” • “My favorite ___ is ___.” • “I’m learning English because ___.” I’ll guide you so you sound natural, not like a textbook. ⸻ 4. Talking practice (about 15 minutes) This is the fun part — and the part that builds confidence the fastest. We’ll practice short conversations like: • Meeting someone new • Ordering food • Talking about school, work, or hobbies You’ll speak as much as you feel comfortable with, and I’ll support you the whole time. ⸻ 5. Pronunciation help (about 10 minutes) I know certain sounds are hard — especially for Spanish-speaking and Taiwanese students. We’ll work gently on: • R and L sounds • TH sounds • Ending sounds in words We’ll take it slow and make it fun — no stress, no embarrassment. ⸻ 6. Ending on a good note (about 10 minutes) Before we finish, we’ll: • Review what you learned • Say one sentence you’re proud of • Talk about what you want to improve next time You’ll leave feeling encouraged, not overwhelmed. ⸻ After class (optional) If you want extra practice, I might suggest: • Writing a few sentences about your day • Recording yourself speaking for 30 seconds • Practicing new words with a friend or family member Only if you want — never pressure. ⸻ What it’s like to learn with me When you’re my student, you get: • A safe space to try, mess up, and grow • A tutor who understands how hard learning a new language can feel • Someone who uses public speaking skills to help you feel confident • Experience working with Taiwanese students and Spanish-speaking children • Lessons made for you, not just a worksheet
