Hi, I’m Jess — a friendly, professional ESL tutor from South Africa. I help students build confidence and fluency through creative, supportive lessons.

I’m TESOL, TEYLT, and HSK 5 (汉语水平考试) certified, hold a BA in Linguistics and Modern Foreign Languages, and have over two years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels worldwide, with a strong focus on Mandarin-speaking learners. Jessica creates a safe space where making mistakes is treated as a learning opportunity rather than a failure, she listens to understand what is not being said, such as anxieties about speaking, and adjusts her approach to build confidence. Jessica helped me to find ways that work for my brain - giving me the broader concept in order to understand the smaller units I was meant to learn.
