About Rachel
Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a music college graduate with more than 10 years teaching experience, mostly 1-1 piano and music theory tuition, as well as violin and viola. I have taught music to a wide range of ages from aged 5 to adult. My specialism is teaching absolute beginners and young children, but am open to teaching all ages. I am also a qualified music therapist and have experience working with children and adults with additional needs. As a musician I enjoy splitting my time between composing, performing and freelance music tutoring, and freelance work performing and recording viola and violin. I also write my own pop songs where I sing and play piano. I love to teach as I love being able to pass on my knowledge to others to help them reach their goals.

I offer friendly and supportive tuition at the student’s own pace, whether they would like to work through grades (I mainly follow Associated Board syllabus but also have experience with Trinity) or otherwise. I consider myself to be a well-rounded and experienced musician, with a passion for helping others to access music. I have a calm, patient manner, and it is my aim to make things accessible and clear to understand, tailored to the needs and interests of the person learning.
