Hi! I’m Nicola
I’m a school-based Science Specialist with experience teaching and supporting students across GCSE Science.
I offer online tutoring in Combined & Triple Science, focusing on making tricky topics easier to understand and helping students improve their exam technique.

My tutoring approach is focused on helping students improve both their understanding of Science and their exam technique, as both are essential for achieving strong GCSE results.
Lessons are delivered online and are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. A typical session includes a short recap of previous learning, clear explanations of key concepts, followed by practice exam questions and detailed feedback. This helps students build confidence and learn how to apply their knowledge effectively in exams.
I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, including understanding command words, structuring answers, and identifying how marks are awarded, as this is often where students can improve most quickly.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes long and take place online using screen sharing and interactive resources, allowing us to work through questions together in real time.
I have experience working in a secondary school as both a Science Teacher and current Science Technician, as well as tutoring students in GCSE Science. This means I am familiar with how the curriculum is taught and assessed, and I understand the common areas where students struggle.
I offer lessons for students studying GCSE Combined Science and Triple Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), and can also provide support for GCSE Maths. My lessons are suitable for students aiming to build confidence, improve their understanding, or work towards higher grades.
