About Robert
I have over 750 hours' tutoring experience, across jobs ranging from primary school up to degree level.
Prior to this I studied Classics for my BA at Oxford and MPhil at Cambridge; along the way I won several academic prizes at Oxford, gaining the third highest first in the year and congratulations from the examiners. This has given me a good basis both to understand how to get the best results possible, and also how to communicate that to tutees.
My approach is all about combining close detail with making the lessons as light-hearted and engaging as possible. Most of my tutoring has been in Classics, but I also have experience of teaching Maths, primary English, 11+ comprehension and reasoning, and EFL. Beyond this, since I have A* at A-level in Maths and History and 11 A*s at GCSE, I am confident to cover a range of subjects.
In my spare time I enjoy sports, especially squash and tennis, and love travelling.

Rob tutored my 14 yr old son in Latin (year 9/10 level) for 10 months - usually 2 lessons/week by mutual arrangement.
My son enjoyed the lessons and thought Rob a good teacher.
Rob was reliable, punctual, polite and flexible. He was well organised and also has a good sense of humour.
