About Brad
I have 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Sacred Music, specializing in Piano and Organ. My passion lies in blending classical discipline with the lively spirit of early American piano. I teach ragtime, stride, and early jazz with an emphasis on rhythm and authenticity. My lessons are energetic, practical, and designed for all ages. I love helping school-aged students discover new styles and guiding adults who want to reconnect with music. Each lesson is tailored to fit your pace and goals. We explore historical context alongside technique. I believe music is best learned through curiosity and joy. Students develop not only skill but also a sense of musical history. Together, we celebrate piano traditions that continue to inspire modern musicians.

My piano teaching approach is centered on creativity, improvisation, and musical confidence. I help students explore a wide range of styles—from jazz and blues to pop and modern music. Lessons focus on melodic development, comping patterns, and creative phrasing. Students learn to arrange spontaneously and respond musically in real time. Each lesson balances structure and freedom. I believe that music is best learned through experience and exploration. My methodology builds solid technique while nurturing creative instinct. I work especially well with jazz and pop pianists looking to refine their style. Feedback is consistent, supportive, and goal-oriented. Students learn to trust their ears and instincts. Together, we explore rhythm, harmony, and musical storytelling. Every session is engaging, dynamic, and personalized. You’ll walk away ready to create, improvise, and perform with confidence.
