About Kimiko
I believe every student is capable of succeeding when they are given the right support and challenged at the appropriate level. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically, and learning from mistakes. I adapt my teaching to each student's needs, using clear explanations and guided practice to build both understanding and confidence. Rather than focusing only on getting the correct answer, I help students develop the reasoning and problem-solving skills they can apply long after our lessons are over.

I focus on building understanding, not memorization. I break complex concepts into manageable steps, use guided practice, and gradually encourage students to solve problems independently. Every lesson is tailored to the student's pace, learning style, and goals.
Each session begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by instruction on a new concept. We work through examples together, then students practice independently while I provide feedback. I end each lesson with a summary, targeted practice, and strategies for continued improvement.
As a full-time elementary math and science teacher with 10 years of tutoring experience, I know how to identify learning gaps and explain concepts in multiple ways. I specialize in Singapore Math while also tutoring Algebra and Geometry, emphasizing confidence, critical thinking, and long-term success.
