About Jacqueline

Hi I have worked as an English teacher for over 15 years in Further Education and for Central Bedfordshire Council and Hertfordshire Council as an adult tutor. I have also taught English classes in a community setting, working closely with schools and education providers. I have been a full time tutor for five years in Tutor Hunt and you can visit my page and see my many five star reviews and genuine feedback on this site. I have a wide range of experience as well as a high standard of subject knowledge. I have also worked as a GCSE English Language and Literature examiner for the past eight years with AQA, Edexcel and CIE. Helping and supporting students to achieve their goals is the most important consideration for me. Every student is different and I believe each student comes with a unique range of skills and knowledge that can be built on to help them achieve, whether that is ensuring the all important Grade 5, or trying to attain a Grade 9. Sometimes, students have lost confidence at school and a big part of my approach to tutoring is to find a way to help students recognise their strengths with genuine praise for their efforts and hard work. This is much more effective when you are working on a one to one basis, and I find, from past experience, that students do feel encouraged and motivated to continue to try with this extra support. I really love my subject and I hope I can relay some of my own joy in English to the students. About the lesson

Each lesson is planned around the individual student through discussion with the student and parents. Lessons can focus on practice papers, developing required skills for individual questions, such as language analysis and using a shared Google doc to work together.

She has a very wide knowledge of the exam requirements for the major Examination Boards and is continually updating that knowledge to ensure that her students have the greatest chance of success. Jacky is a conscientious teacher who will always do the very best for her students.I have known her for four years, working alongside her in an FE college for three, and I know that she consistently achieves good results by always enabling her students to reach their potential.
