About Almira

My name is Almira and I am from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. I am a very enthusiastic and positive person. I am a person with many interests. I am a cat mom of two and currently attending college to obtain my bachelor's degree in English and master's degree in speech-language pathology. I love anime and video games (especially playing League of Legends). I love to read books, workout, eat food, listen to music, sing, hike, dance, teach, learn another language, learn how to play the guitar, etc. (There are way too many things to express in this list) I love to travel and learn about different cultures. My passions are helping people and making a difference, no matter how big or small, in people's lives and being impacted as well. There is nothing more rewarding than building genuine connections, making every moment count, and taking my experiences as a learning moment to become better.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is always positive, engaging, relaxed, and supportive. I believe in building genuine connections with my students for genuine interactions and to help build confidence. I like to implement the 4Cs in my lessons: communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. I provide a safe environment in which high, clear expectations and positive relationships are fostered and active learning is promoted, as well as create an environment where student work is valued, appreciated and used as a learning tool. My lessons are mostly student-centered by giving lots of opportunities for my students to speak to encourage self-monitoring which leads to self-correction, and results in independence. I effectively allocate time for students to engage in hands-on experiences, discuss and
process content to make meaningful connections with the language being learned. I teach all ages and levels. I have experience in teaching phonics, reading, writing, listening, and conducting mock exams, presentations, and interviews to help my students prepare.
