About Sho

I was born in Japan and grew up in a family that loves music. Although my father loved Jazz and 70's soul music and my mother enjoyed traditional folk music, the one love they shared was the piano. From the time I was 3 years old, I displayed a love and talent for classical piano. I started to compose at 7 years old and by the time I was in Kunitachi College of Music at 19 years old, I added singing and dancing to my repertoire. My singing was inspired by R&B, soul and gospel and my dancing styles ranged from hip hop to 17th century French court dancing (based on ballet). It was also around this time that I started to perform at various venues and events. I have a Bachelor of Music from Kunitachi College of Music in Japan. In March 2012, I moved to Montreal, and I started performing once again as a pianist, composer and vocalist.

About the lesson

My teaching method is very unique. I can teach them not just how to play piano. Using all methods from theory, solfege, rhythmic and also finger training; sometimes telling them about music history. I try to ensure all the students learn quickly and understand more about music. I accept all ages from beginner to advanced.
