About Matt
I'm Matt and come from Manchester UK but now living in Australia after a lot of travelling along the way. I'm big into football, running, and sport in general, and I love music and podcasts in my downtime. Language learning is a genuine passion of mine, not just a job - I taught myself German and I'm currently picking up Spanish, so I know exactly what it's like to be a nervous beginner too.
I want to teach because I know first-hand how life-changing speaking another language can be - it's opened up friendships, experiences, and confidence I never expected when I first started learning German myself. Having travelled so much and met people from all kinds of backgrounds, I've seen how much a shared language can connect people, and I want to give my students that same feeling: the moment speaking stops feeling scary and starts feeling free.

Speaking is the hardest skill to learn and the most useful one to have, so that's exactly what I focus on. Lessons are relaxed and conversation based because that's how confidence builds which I've experienced first-hand when learning languages myself.
I want you to feel free to speak, make mistakes, and not be scared to get it wrong, since that fear is usually the biggest thing holding people back.
Lessons typically run 30 to 60 minutes, depending on what suits you best. I hold a Level 5 TEFL Diploma with classroom teaching practice, and I bring my own experience learning languages as an adult, so I genuinely understand how intimidating speaking a new language can feel and how much a judgement-free space with a supportive tutor helps.
My lessons are suited to teenagers and adults of any level, from nervous beginners to advanced speakers wanting to sound more natural and confident.
