About Andrea
Functional Skills specialist with many years of experience teaching both maths and English from Entry level up to Level 2 (GCSE Grade 4/5 equivalent) As an ex Veterinary Nurse who fell into teaching by accident, having had a bad start to my experience of education I have empathy with those who are anxious about getting back into learning. I however can provide a supportive and non judgmental environment for my learners to help them progress to gain a qualification in maths.
I have 3 boys who are very active and keep me busy but also keep me young at heart.
I find nothing more rewarding than supporting people to progress into a role or course they felt was impossible due to their anxiety over maths.

I am a Functional skills specialist who will not only support learners to cover the content of the Functional Skills exam but advise on study skills and exam techniques. I have helped students overcome many barriers to learning including low confidence and lack of belief in themselves. I am very patient and know how to encourage people to get the best out of themselves. I am very knowledgable in my subject areas and contiue to keep up to date with new ideas.
You will find me committed and reliable, keen to help and honest. I endeavour to keep lessons interesting and interactive whilst listening to the needs of individuals
