About Elizabeth

I'm Lizi, an experienced English teacher, former Director of English and Vice Principal specialising in GCSE English Language and English Literature.

Over the past 15 years, I have taught in a range of local schools, helping students grow in confidence, improve their writing and gain the best possible GCSE outcomes. As an experienced teacher and school leader, I have both a deep understanding of my subject, as well as the practical requirements of the GCSE assessments.

My teaching style has been described as warm, supportive and practical. Showing students how small changes to their writing can have a big impact on their grades has always been my favourite part of teaching. My feedback will be focused, practical and kind, enabling students to make quick improvements.

As a parent myself, I understand how important it is to be clear, reliable and honest. You can expect regular, open feedback that allows us all to work together to get the best possible outcome.

About the lesson

I am an experienced teacher and school leader with a track record of securing strong GCSE outcomes in a wide range of local schools. As a former Director of English and Vice Principal, I have both a deep subject knowledge and passion for English, as well as a clear understanding of what exam boards are looking for.

I specialise in helping students:
- secure a grade 4/5
- develop strong, structured essay writing
- master exam technique for both English Language and English Literature
- overcome anxiety and build confidence

My teaching style has been described as warm, supportive and practical. Sessions will be tailored to each student, but would typically include:
- targeted work on specific exam questions
- memorable strategies for text analysis and structuring responses
- live modelling and guided practice
- precise feedback that enables quick progress

My favourite thing about teaching is showing students the small changes that can make a big difference to their performance. I love seeing that pride in a student's face when they realise the progress they have made.

Parents can expect clear, professional communication, regular feedback and an understanding that GCSEs can be stressful, not just for the student taking them.
