About Catherine

I’m a multilingual tutor offering French lessons, with a strong understanding of the UK GCSE and A-Level curriculum (AQA and Edexcel), and classroom teaching experience through my PGCE training.

I specialise in helping students build confidence and improve their performance in exams, particularly in speaking, which is often the most challenging area. My approach is structured and focused on clear progress, using exam-style questions and practical strategies to help students develop stronger, more accurate answers.

I work with a range of levels and abilities, including students who feel stuck or lack confidence, breaking the language down into manageable steps and helping them improve steadily.

I also offer conversational French lessons for adults looking to build confidence in real-life situations. With a background in multilingual SaaS customer-facing roles, I’m particularly comfortable supporting professionals who want to improve their communication skills for work or international environments.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured and focused on clear progress. In the first session, I assess the student’s level and identify the key areas to improve, so we can target what will have the biggest impact.

For GCSE and A-Level Spanish, lessons are aligned with AQA and Edexcel requirements, with a strong focus on speaking exams, exam technique, and building more complex answers. We practise real exam-style questions and work on improving fluency, accuracy, and confidence.

I provide clear explanations and targeted feedback so students understand exactly how to improve and gain marks.

For adult learners, lessons are more conversational and tailored to real-life use of Spanish, focusing on practical communication and confidence.

I reserve the right to amend the cost of the lesson depending on lesson demands (preparation, location) but this will be discussed once these have been established and before any payments are made.

My first lesson can either be used to discuss level and requirements to get started, this will ensure a fully tailored experience.
Alternatively, we can have a quick evaluation over the phone, followed by a 30 min lesson.
