About Faith
In my GCSEs, I scored 10 grade 9s including 9s in maths and further maths, so I can speak from personal experience on top tips to get the highest grades. In our lessons, I will work with your child at their current level to attain improvements which, with consistency, build up towards leaps in their understanding.
I have strong tutoring experience in GCSE mathematics tutoring as well as for the 11+ and A-Levels, and having very recently passed through the process I'm in the perfect position to equip your child with all the skills they need to succeed.

I centre lessons on the unique needs of your child, tailoring our classes to their learning style to maximise effectiveness of study.
I find a lot of students thrive with a Socratic approach: by asking them guiding questions, so that they build the key skill of helping themselves get 'unstuck' with my help. Alternatively, if the student needs more support in building mathematical confidence and learns well by example, this can involve me doing an example for the student to learn from after which they attempt to get to the same solution without my working in front of them. I strengthening any gaps in understanding I notice the student has, which gives increasing returns as this then leads to improvement across the board.
I believe mindset is a key factor in attainment and GCSE is usually the first national exam sat by UK students, so building a growth mindset, where they see challenging questions as an exciting opportunity for learning and self-improvement, rather than something unpleasant or to be avoided, will pave the way for their continued success in learning, as learning is for life.
