About Conor

I am offering tutoring services because I believe that personalised support and clear explanations can make a significant difference in students’ confidence and exam results. Having experienced the challenges of GCSE and A-Level maths and physics myself, I want to help others achieve their academic goals efficiently and effectively. I am currently studying A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Business and WBQ with predicted grades of A*A*A*A*A* At GCSE, I achieved 11 A*s and 1 A, including a Distinction in Additional Mathematics. To complement my studies, I actively participate in super-curricular activities such as reading into more advanced maths content as well as being a participant on the MEI Problem Solving Matters Course. I have also been awarded prizes in a national maths competition as well as the British Physics Olympiad. These experiences have broadened my understanding and honed my problem-solving skills. I am applying to study Mathematics at Oxford University, with the intention of pursuing a career in finance. Through tutoring, I aim to share my knowledge and help students build the skills necessary to excel in their exams and beyond.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on guiding students to discover solutions through their own reasoning rather than just giving answers. I believe the best way to learn mathematics and physics is by asking the right questions that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This method helps build deeper understanding and confidence in applying concepts independently. During lessons, I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring ideas and making mistakes. I tailor each session to the student’s needs, whether they want to improve exam techniques, clarify difficult topics, or develop problem-solving strategies. My goal is not only to help you improve your grades but to foster a mindset that will make future learning easier and more effective.
