About Shlok

I have always been deeply interested in the medical sciences, and in helping others (hence my Medicine application). Tutoring gives me the opportunity to help others learn, which is something I've realised I am good at, and passionate about, having done the same for peers in class. Given my 10 A* equivalents at GCSE (including 9s in maths and all sciences), and being predicted 4 A*s at A level (in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further maths), I have a solid foundation, and repeatable study methods that have been proven, and am keen to share them with others.

About the lesson

As a Medicine offer holder at Cambridge who achieved grade 9s in the modern GCSE system, I teach students with a two-part structure: firstly understanding of the specification with explaining concepts and knowledge-based questions, followed by live past paper questions, to understand exactly what mark schemes look for. I frequently demonstrate how to tackle challenging problems by going through them myself live, and explaining the exam logic required, by breaking down my thought process clearly to ensure no student feels lost in problems. Once we walk through a problem together, a student can apply the same methods to their own questions. I offer both 60 and 120 minute lessons, depending on what the student needs, and recommend 120 minute lessons for students wanting to cover multiple subjects. Although my profile is new on Superprof, I have personally just been through both GCSEs and A levels, so have an understanding of what is needed to achieve high grades. As I have familiarity with these exam boards (Edexcel maths, AQA Bio/Chem), I can precisely teach the skills and content needed. In classrooms, I have consistently helped peers, which has taught me how to effectively break down complex tasks and how to adapt to different learning styles to ensure a topic becomes clear to the student.
