About Uma
My name is Uma, I am currently studying A-Levels, doing Maths, Politics and Psychology. I’ve decided to take up tutoring as I understand how it feels to not be the best at Maths, which used to make me hate it as a subject. However, once I began to understand it and get better, it swiftly became my favourite subject, so I want to help other students who were in my position to be able to share the same enjoyment for Maths.

After struggling with Maths in Year 9 and 10 (averaging 40-50/80 on each paper), I decided to teach myself all over again in Year 11 and managed to get 71/80 on each of my GCSE papers! I know all about not understanding topics, and I am confident that I will be able to explain things in ways to suit your understanding, no matter how difficult you may find them at first. I am willing to walk through past papers with students, focus on certain topics or specific questions and make sure they understand why they are doing what they are doing - not just how to do it. Understanding ‘why’ is the key to excelling in Maths.

Uma tutored me for GCSE maths, she was really helpful and taught me in an interesting and unique way to help me understand the subject. After a few months i was able to achieve the high grade i wanted and surpassed my expectations.
I know Uma through school. She helped me with GCSE maths and gave me helpful revision techniques that aided me to get a grade 7! Uma is patient and will work with you until you fully understand your work. She is a reliable tutor as she herself got a grade 8 in maths, so i would recommend her if you want to do well in maths.
