About Nittan

As a qualified Science Teacher, I understand both the subject content and the demands of GCSE examinations.
Over the years, I've seen that students often know more than they think they do. The problem is that misconceptions, gaps in understanding and unfamiliarity with exam questions can prevent them from showing what they know. That's where my approach comes in. I identify the areas that are holding a student back, explain difficult concepts clearly, and then give them targeted opportunities to apply what they've learned. My aim is not just to help students get through a particular topic. It's to help them become more confident, independent and effective learners.

About the lesson

Each lesson is personalised around the student's needs and may include:
-Identifying and correcting misconceptions
-Breaking down difficult GCSE Science topics
-Consolidating knowledge and understanding
-Targeted exam-style questions
-Learning how to interpret and answer exam questions
-Developing exam technique Identifying recurring weaknesses
-Building confidence with challenging topics
-Revisiting previous areas where understanding is insecure
-Structured preparation for GCSE exams
-For students approaching their exams, we can focus particularly on exam technique, application of knowledge and targeted practice rather than simply revising everything again.

The goal is to make every lesson purposeful:

Identify the gap → understand it → practise it → apply it independently.

Who I teach I work with GCSE Science students who may be:
-Struggling with particular topics
-Finding Science difficult or overwhelming
-Losing marks despite knowing the content Unsure how to approach exam questions
- Preparing for upcoming GCSE exams Looking to move up a grade Already doing well but wanting to strengthen their performance
-I teach students at different starting points and adapt my approach to suit the individual.

What you can expect :
My lessons are supportive, structured and focused. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and admitting when they don't understand something. At the same time, I challenge them to think carefully and become increasingly independent.

Parents can expect lessons to have a clear purpose rather than simply being another hour of revision. If your child has specific topics they are struggling with, we can start there. If you're not sure exactly what is holding them back, I can help identify the areas that need attention and build our lessons around them. I will also ensure that we discuss progress at the end of each lesson.
