About Leyla

I am a currently training as a Clinical Scientist in Genomics. I have two degrees: a masters in Reproductive Biology from Imperial College London and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from Queen Mary University of London, I am currently studying another masters in Genomic Medicine. With my strong educational background and experience in the field, I am well-equipped to teach and share my knowledge with others. I want to teach because I have a real enthusiasm for science and I want to share that passion with students. I believe that by helping others to understand and appreciate the wonders of science, I can make a positive impact on their lives and contribute to a greater understanding of the world around us. I once had a great tutor, who helped me get to where I am now.

About the lesson

I understand that every student learns differently and has unique needs. That's why I strive to deliver effective lessons that are tailored to the individual student. I start by assessing the student's current knowledge and learning needs in order to understand how best to support them. From there, I use a variety of teaching methods and techniques to engage the student and help them to understand the material. Whether it's through visual aids or interactive exercises, I strive to find the approach that works best for each student. By taking the time to understand each student's unique needs and learning style, I am able to deliver lessons that are more effective and help the student to achieve their goals.

As a tutor in biology, I use a variety of techniques to help students understand complex concepts and make connections between them. One effective approach I use is incorporating visual aids such as diagrams and charts. These can help students to see the relationships between different biological ideas and make them easier to understand. I also encourage hands-on learning through activities and experiments, as this helps students to see the concepts in action and make connections to the real world. To break down complex ideas, I find it helpful to divide them into smaller, more manageable pieces. This makes it easier for students to grasp the material. I also encourage students to ask questions as this helps to clarify their understanding and identify areas where they may need additional support. Finally, I try to use real-world examples to connect biological concepts to the world around us and show students the relevance and applications of what they are learning. By providing positive feedback and reinforcement, I aim to build students' confidence and motivation as they work towards their goals.

I am an experienced tutor, having taught students from KS2 to A-level. My lessons are typically one hour in length, giving us plenty of time to delve into the subject matter and make sure that the student fully understands the material. I have found that this length of time is sufficient to make meaningful progress while still being manageable for the student. Whether you are just starting your academic journey or preparing for exams, I am confident in my ability to provide the support you need to succeed.
