About Fergus
I am a recent graduate in Geography from the University of Oxford. While there, I volunteered for Jacari, a charity that teaches English as a foreign language to school-age children. During my training for Jacari I was taught how to develop good lesson plans as well as how to adapt my teaching style to the individual. I excelled at school in both my A levels (3 A*'s) and GCSE's (9 A*'s, 2 A's), and so am confident in my ability to pass on my skills and knowledge from these experiences. I also received brilliant teaching both at school and university, so absorbed highly effective methods from some of the best teachers in the world.

In the first lesson I will assess the level of the tutee and any target areas for improvement. Subsequent lessons will focus on these areas. These will start with me collaboratively teaching the tutee about the target area for that lesson, before getting them to perform a mini exercise and giving feedback. We will revisit these areas in later sessions. Previous experience includes volunteering at Jacari, a charity that teaches English as a foreign language to school-age children in the UK. Lessons will generally be 1 hour in length, but can be longer or shorter. I teach History, Geography and Biology up to an A level standard and am happy to help with university applications. I also teach English and Chemistry up to a GCSE standard.
