About George
Hello and thank you for tuning in, My name is George Marios and I am a solo artist, session guitarist (The Pineapple Thief) and educator based in a cosy studio in NW London (though I teach globally via zoom as well). - I graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2010 (1st) and had a beautiful journey both as an educator and performer. - Educational work: As an educator, I have helped thousands of people all over the world find their voice on the instrument, both through my 1-1 tuition programme, as well as via all the educational releases I have created and published via prestigious companies such as Lick Library & JTC. Performing/Session work: As a performer and solo artist, I have had the joy of being able to travel the world playing music that I love, for people that wanted to hear it. From touring the world with one of my favourite bands, "The Pineapple Thief", playing lyrical progressive/alternative music to supporting bands like "Alex Henry Foster and the Long Shadows" as a solo artist I have had countless experiences on the road, which helped shape my teaching and how I interact with music itself. - If you are looking for someone to guide you in a comprehensive and engaging way then look no further - All I ask is for you to be consistent, that's all! My priority: My main priority, as a teacher and mentor, is to help you build a strong foundation so that you can express yourself freely and play anything that you wish to. This is mostly a derivative of sharpening our perception of music, as well as integrating mechanical and conceptual tools. What we work on: From techniques to applied music theory, to musicianship concepts and more, we will be diving through everything in a way that is both engaging and creative. We will also create recording projects to help solidify all those aspects of the craft. Regarding practice schedules: I always tailor the practice schedule to your lifestyle. Whether you have 20' to practise or 10 hours(been there as a 16 year old shredder haha), I will provide a comprehensive and realistic schedule, so that you can navigate the path and achieve progress no matter how much time you have to spend. Consistency is key! *FREE* Access to resources: A very important feature that you will have access to as my student, is a “Students only area" on my website (London Guitar Mastery). On there you will find countless HD videos, covering a range of topics from technique, to phrasing tools, to rhythm guitar and more - which are intended to help reinforce all we discuss in class. Lesson length/Levels: I offer 60' and 90' lessons - All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced guitarists.
