About Kilian
Hi! I am German native speaker with a fully bilingual upbringing. After studying in both English and German speaking schools, I have just finished the first year of my undergrad in English literature and Classics at Oxford University. I love learning languages and reading literature from different cultures, and want to help other young people unlock the same richness which my bilinguality has given me. Being able to pretend to only speak German when you've bought the wrong train ticket also certainly comes in handy every now and then! I am also an able and patient communicator, a skill I have honed this past year by immersing myself in Oxford Student drama as an actor and director. Qualifications: - 13 grade nines at GCSE - 4 A*s at A-level, A* in EPQ

My predominant focus in tutoring is on linguistic fluency, and I can flexibly adapt to your needs; whether it be speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing, or listening, my native grasp of the language will stand you in good stead! I am also more than happy to cater to different levels of proficiency with the language, from complete beginners to advanced speakers, to provide additional support for those studying German at School, or to tutor those who are independently learning this fascinating language. My intuitive approach to the language is particularly helpful in building fluency; however, my background in Classical languages also allows me to take a more analytical approach to language learning. I know that German Grammar is often challenging for learners, but trust me when I say that ancient Greek is harder! So if you are struggling to get a grasp of German grammar or syntax (how sentences fit together) I can flexibly devise a revision plan to suit your needs. Due to my literary background I can also provide feedback on essays (in both English and German) and coaching in literary analysis & close reading. (I also offer tutoring in English, Latin, and Greek language & literature, as well as university application coaching, on another ad on superprof; same rates apply :))
