About Laura
I am a teacher of gifted, twice-exceptional, ESL, underprivileged, and autism-spectrum students as well as a mentor for confrontational, difficult, and unmotivated students. I am a native Spanish speaker with a BA in English Language and Literature as well as a Master’s in Theological Studies.

My teaching method is very focused on the student as the individual, with the understanding that the intellect is only one part of a greater whole of human experience and knowledge. I help students understand how they themselves understand the world; by helping them understand how their brains and various intelligences work, we develop a plan for success and joy in learning as well as for how to handle challenges, both personally and academically. My methodology is holistic in spectrum yet deeply focused on the student’s unique contexts and ways of thinking - no Teo people process information in the same way, and so I make space for a student to be fully themselves instead of forcing them to struggle and conform to an ideal that may harm much more than help.
