About Emily

As a teacher with six years of classroom experience in kindergarten and second grade, I am committed to helping every student reach their full potential. Understand that every child learns differently, so I create personalized lessons that meet each student's unique needs and learning style. My experience working with students of all abilities, including those receiving special education services, has strengthened my ability to provide patient, supportive, and effective instruction.
I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress. My goal is not only to improve academic skills but also to build confidence and foster a love of learning. Families can expect open communication, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to their child's success every step of the way.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered, engaging, and tailored to each child's individual learning needs. I begin by assessing the student's current understanding, then create lessons that build on their strengths while addressing areas for growth. I use hands-on activities, guided practice, and positive reinforcement, and real-world examples to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. My goal is to build both academic skills and confidence!

Lesson Plan:
Each session begins with a brief review of previously learned skills, followed by introducing or practicing a targeted concept. I model the skill, guide the student through practice, and then provide opportunities for independent work while offering support as needed. I end each session with a quick assessment, celebrate progress, and share feedback and next steps with families when appropriate.

The lessons are for learners looking to learn a new skill or brush up on skills previously taught.

What sets me apart as a tutor is the way I teach. Learning, and listening to each other and the learners needs. Each learner is special and will feel heard.
