About Akista

Hi! You can call me Miss Akista, Miss Ki, Miss Horton, or Akista Teacher!

I've been an educator for 9 years (time flies!), with students making huge leaps in language learning from South Korea to Senegal. 100s of online students have given 5 stars for their lessons, noting my patience, kindness, and thorough style of teaching beginner English, casual English, and business English. In classrooms, my students grow in confidence through visual learning, creative presentations, reading circles, and intensive writing.

Learning can be fun AND highly effective.
I can't wait to meet you and help you on your English language journey!

About the lesson

I'm a teacher that guides you with patience. Everyone deserves the space to learn, without worrying about mistakes, and I encourage my students to focus, be intentional, and still enjoy the process.

We begin with visuals where you can see what you're learning, then we speak and give sound to what you've seen, and finally we can read and fully understand our English lessons.

My lessons are for ages 5-13 primarily, with experience teaching up to age 75! If you're a beginner or want to learn effectively yet without pressure, we can work together beautifully.

Ms. Ki is a wonderful teacher. She has a creative way of teaching that helped my child feel more confident. Each time I heard them speaking spontaneously, I knew we were going in the right direction. Now they're excited to learn English.
