About Danny

I'm an experienced and accomplished journalist who has reported from warzones, covered breaking news and written for some of the most prestigious publications in the UK and Ireland. My work has been nominated for awards, been cited in Parliament and triggered policy changes. But I achieved none of this alone. At key moments of my life, there were teachers and mentors who asked the right questions, shed light on skills I was unaware of, and guided me towards success. Their words and wisdom stay with me. Because of that, I have taken every opportunity to pass on my knowledge to new generations. I have mentored young journalists through a mentorship scheme, I have had students shadow me while I work, showing them how I construct stories and why I make the stylistic, grammatical and structural decisions that make the most impact. I have also tutored English-language students in Denmark. I have also had terrible teachers who made school a real struggle as a teenager. This led me to leave formal education at 16, but I continued studying by myself at home. I got into one of the top British universities - the University of Liverpool - where I completed two dissertations and graduated with a First Class degree in Modern History and Politics. I understand how much of a challenge learning environments can be, particularly for neurodiverse kids, and how important it is for those environments to be warm, welcoming and non-judgmental. I am passionate about imparting wisdom, helping people improve, and guiding them to their full potential.

About the lesson

I believe everyone has a voice, a story and the potential to make waves with their words. All it takes is locating, unleashing and harnessing their passion. I help my students develop skill and understanding through questions, examples and tasks.
