About Junyi

Music has always been an important part of my life, and I’d love to help you discover the enjoyment and satisfaction that comes from playing the piano.

I’m a Grade 8 Distinction pianist based in Leeds, and I offer friendly, relaxed lessons for children and adults, from complete beginners to those who have played before and would like to get back into it.

I know that starting something new can feel daunting — particularly if you’re an adult who has always wanted to learn but never quite got around to it. My aim is to make lessons enjoyable and encouraging, without making you feel that you have to be “naturally musical” or know anything about music before you begin.

For me, learning piano isn't just about getting the notes right. It's about gaining a skill you can enjoy for years to come — and having fun along the way.

If you've always fancied learning the piano but weren't sure whether it was for you, I'd be very happy to help you take that first step.

About the lesson

We can work on the things that interest you: learning to read music, developing your technique, understanding music theory, preparing for grades, or simply learning pieces that you love. I’ll adapt lessons to your pace and interests, while helping you build confidence and make steady progress.
