About Patingo,
As a STEM educator, I approach math and science not as lists of formulas to memorize, but as intuitive frameworks for understanding the world. When teaching math and science, I focus on helping students actually understand what’s happening behind the formulas instead of just memorizing steps for a test. I like to break down tricky concepts using everyday examples, walk through problems together first, and then let my students take the lead so they build genuine confidence in their own problem-solving skills. A typical hour with me is relaxed but structured: we check in on any trouble spots from school, tackle the core topic with hands-on practice, and wrap up by having the student explain the idea back to me in their own words. What sets me apart is my patience and my ability to connect textbook theory to real-world applications, which takes the intimidation out of STEM and helps students who feel "stuck" or anxious. My lessons are geared toward middle school, high school, and early college students, whether they need to catch up on the basics, prepare for exams, or just want to feel more capable in academic subjects such as algebra, pre-calculus, biology, and chemistry.
