About Thomas
Hello, My name is Thomas, I currently give private lessons in Lyon from 6th to 12th grade. I obtained my Bac mention Very Good (18 on average) and then, after having completed two years of preparatory class for grandes écoles (CPGE), I joined the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers. My academic background gives me great versatility, and my educational skills allow me to effectively support students and improve their results. I have been teaching for 5 years now: I have already given lessons to more than a dozen students with all possible profiles (excellent students, average students, students in difficulty, poorly motivated) and of all ages (middle school students, second , first, Terminals). My experience has allowed me to perfect my methods, to know the points which are often less well mastered, the classic exercises, the traps to avoid, the tricks, etc. I am available weekdays and weekends (flexible hours).

- During the first course, I start with the assessment of the level: understanding the difficulties, identifying the needs in order to establish a detailed work plan adapted to the profile and the objectives. This is why I ask the student to provide me with his copies in order to make a diagnosis of his strengths and weaknesses. - Secondly, it is the understanding phase: like long monologues followed by application exercises, but my method is different: I make the student "guess" the theorem or the formula, he will therefore demonstrate by himself the important concepts. These notions will then be anchored in his memory because he will have understood them and assimilate them to real phenomena. - Lastly, I teach the methods and tips to succeed in an exercise and avoid all the classic errors (blocking, miscalculations, poor reading of the question, off topic, etc.).
