About Tristan
I'm a recent Business Studies graduate from Dublin City University, specialising in accounting and financial services, and currently working towards my ACCA qualifications.
I've worked as a Financial Services Intern, where I supported financial reporting, account reconciliation, and internal audits, and I also run my own small business, so I understand both the theory and the real-world side of accounting. I've also worked in A learning model validation within finance, which gave me a strong grounding in breaking down complex problems clearly and logically, a skill that translates directly into tutoring.

I take a structured, step-by-step approach to tutoring. Rather than jumping straight into exam questions, I like to make sure the underlying concepts are solid first, once you actually understand why something works the way it does, the exam technique and past paper practice fall into place much more naturally.
I find a lot of students get stuck because they're trying to memorise rules or formulas without understanding the logic behind them which makes it hard to adapt when a question is phrased differently or combines topics. My focus is on building that foundation so things click rather than feeling like rote learning, then layering on the practical application once it's there.
Since I'm in the middle of my own ACCA journey, I know which topics tend to trip people up and where the "aha" moments usually happen and I try to get you there faster than I did.
