About Emily
I have been working with children for many years at my church. There we go over bible lessons and discuss the content learned to understand critically what the lesson is about. In tutoring, I will use the skills I have learned here to apply to the tutoring sessions.
I also have a degree from the University of Georgia where I learned many different communications styles to connect and learn with people.

First, I will evaluate the ability of the student and start at the level the student is the most comfortable with. From there, I will challenge the student with each additional level until the student feels confident in their English abilities.
A typical lesson plan will start with what homework the student has or what their class is going over. From there we will practice writings and discuss why we are using certain literary techniques. This understanding of why these techniques are useful help with understanding and retention of the knowledge and skills gained. This also helps the student have a greater ability to critically think as the student writes in the future.
I am able to tutor students K-12 in English.
